FAQ
How long does it take to install?
The installation will take anywhere from 1 to 4 days, depending on the specifics of your job.
When can I walk on my new floor?
After installation is complete, avoid foot traffic or placing foreign objects on the coated floor for 2 days.
How long before I can drive on it?
No vehicle traffic for 7 days. If polyaspartic/polyurea fast cure is applied at 77 degrees or higher, avoid foot traffic, vehicles, or foreign objects for 24 hours. If below 77 degrees, then wait 48 hours.
I have an old epoxy coating on my floor now. Can you remove it?
Yes, we use state-of-the-art diamond grinding equipment with specialized vacuums that contain 99% of the dust. This process removes the old coating, leaving the floor ready for the new coating.
How does the sun affect my floor?
All epoxies will fade and turn yellow over time, which is why we use epoxy only as a primer or build coat. We use only aliphatic polyurethane with UVR (pigmented or clear) or polyaspartic/polyurea with UVR as a topcoat to prevent fading or yellowing.
How do you prep the floor?
We diamond grind every floor, whether new or old. We never use a power washer in your garage, as it could damage garage cabinets, baseboards, and walls. The diamond grinding machine is attached to a vacuum that collects 99% of the dust. Proper prep is the most critical part of the entire process.
My floor is brand new; do you still need to prep the floor?
Yes, whether the floor is new or old, it still needs to be diamond ground to open up the pores, allowing the epoxy primer to bond with the concrete.
Why not use do-it-yourself products?
Over the years, we have seen many DIY floors fail and not last. Removing those old coatings incurs extra charges. Your new floor is only as good as the preparation and products used.
How do I clean my new floor?
- Sweep or blow out dust and loose debris.
- Wipe up oil or grease spots with a paper towel.
- Use orange cleaner or non-filming detergent as per the instructions on the container.
- Use a mop with a wringer mechanism to mop the floor.
- Rinse the floor thoroughly.
- For tough stains or spot cleaning, use a mild solvent such as paint thinner or mineral spirits.
- Avoid abrasive cleaners that may dull the surface.
What is the warranty?
AZ Garage Floors offers a lifetime warranty on residential flooring against surface delamination for as long as you own your home, with 100% satisfaction guaranteed. We offer a 2-year warranty on all commercial applications and a 2-year warranty on pavers.
